Blandford based Chad Wirtzfeld is the fourth part of the Warriors septet for 2020.
It will be Wirtzfeld’s second season as a Warrior having shown steady progress in 2019 – in fact, such has been his improvement that he forced his way into the main body of the Warriors line-up having started the year at reserve. His on-track performances earned him a 3.81 year end average, almost double his initial 2.00. Sixteen year old Chad is likely to start in the number two race jacket riding alongside returning captain Ben Morley.
Warriors’ co-promoter Barry Bishop can see further improvement for Wirtzfeld in the coming season saying, “Chad has been one of our most dedicated trainees at the My First Skid training nights and he has already been over to the Island doing some testing already. The fact he significantly increased his racing average in his first year gives us cause to think that there is a lot more to come and we will continue to support his development in the sport”.
Self confessed motor-cycle nut Wirtzfeld said, “I’m very pleased to have been asked to ride for the Warriors again in 2020. Last year was my first in proper team competition. Sometimes it was hard. Some of the away tracks were new and took quite a bit of getting used to, but I got better as the season went on and moving into the team at number two was another big challenge. I still have so much to work on to be a better rider, however with great support from Barry, Martin and Jackie I will do all that I can to repay the faith that they have shown in me”.
