15 Year Old Sensation Becomes A Warrior

There will be at least one new face in the 2024 Wightlink Warriors’ team this season as the club continues to prepare for racing at Smallbrook Stadium. As well as a valued team member, we hope that our latest team member will also be on hand to inspire our youth riders to continue to progress and aim high to also join the team in the near future.

We are sure Wightlink Warrior fans will be delighted with this signing and will welcome him to the club with open arms as we introduce to you Sonny Springer.

Wightlink Warriors Team Manager Steve Piper said, “Here is a rider I believe is going places and at 15 years old, in his first season, he is already making his mark in the sport. I am sure the fans will love him as he is an exciting rider and a natural entertainer. I am so chuffed that he decided to ride for us and he came highly recommended by our Skipper Arran Butcher. This lad is on top quality equipment, is full of talent and a real asset for the Wightlink Warriors. Once again a great team is coming together.”

Sonny added, “Obviously being a No.2 at Leicester I should have gained a lot of experience already for when I race for the Isle of Wight. I haven’t ridden the track in over 7 years, so a little bit of practice will be needed but this year feels like a great year for me and I cannot wait to meet my team mates and the fans soon.”

You can see Sonny’s first meeting for the Warriors on June 27th as the Wightlink Warriors take on the Cradley Heathens in the Vince Mapley Trophy.
