KASPRZAK FIRES UP ROCKETS
Rye House look certain to break their duck and make the SGB Premiership end of season play-offs for the first time. That’s the view of their Polish international racer Krzysztof Kasprzak, who has just completed an extensive practice session at the Hoddesdon raceway.
The BMR Rockets just failed to reach the play-offs in 2017, their first in the top tier of British speedway, but Kasprzak believes it will be a very different story the second time around.
‘I am getting to feel a real part of the team now and I hope that I play my part in making it a good season. The owners have put together a very good side and I think it is strong enough to make the play-offs, maybe even win the league title. The team has two star riders in Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls, who I think will enjoy a good season and their experience is bound to help the rest of the side.’
‘I am pleased with the way practice went’ he said ‘I tried several different engine set–ups and am happy with the results. My mechanics worked hard and I was able to put in a lot of laps and learn a lot about the race track.’
Kasprzak joined Rye House on loan from Poole toward the end of last season and his high scoring performances so nearly helped them to reach the play–off stages for the SGB Premiership, with the Rockets just missing out in the very last match of the regular season.
